Connecting Your Custom Domain Email with IMAP

This guide walks you through the step-by-step process of connecting your custom domain email to Cuppa using IMAP.

Overview

Cuppa allows you to connect custom domain emails via IMAP. IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a widely used email protocol that enables you to access and manage emails across multiple devices. Many small private email providers and large services such as AOL, Yahoo, and iCloud support IMAP.

When you connect your IMAP provider to Cuppa, Cuppa retrieves and monitors new email messages using IMAP and sends emails via SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol).

Prerequisites

Before connecting your custom domain email to Cuppa, ensure that:

  • Your email provider supports IMAP and SMTP.
  • You have your IMAP and SMTP server details.
  • You have your email account credentials (username and password or app-specific password).
  • Your email provider allows third-party app connections (you may need to enable this in your account settings).
